Francesca says: “I think spinel is such an underrated gemstone, that can bring something special to a design. I find as soon as you’re introduced to a spinel, it’s hard not to fall in love with its individual sparkle.”

Choose a spinel engagement ring and bring sparkle and colour to your unique design.
Spinel has a rather vivid sparkle, which translates no matter the colour you choose.
Its colour is what makes it perfect for a unique engagement ring, where you can choose from cooler, pastels or deeper tones.
From inky blues, to greys, reds, fire-y oranges and pinks, spinel offers variety and beauty that rivals the likes of sapphire.

Spinel is often mistaken for ruby and many famous ‘rubies’ in crown jewels around the world are actually spinel.
Spinel is now a treasured stone of its own, with a hardness rating of 8, and availability in a wide range of colours. Red occurs from traces of chromium while blue spinel can contain cobalt. Spinel is primarily cut in cushion and oval shapes.
