Fantasy World Details for Debbie and James' Rings
Debbie and James had a vision for their rings that captured something magical alongside ethical values. Due to its mesmerising colour changing in different lights, her Fairtrade 9ct rose gold ring features an ethically sourced oval cut alexandrite from our collection. The shaping of the band creates the feeling of vines growing around the alexandrite with leaves holding it, with extra round cut diamonds held in curls. The polished finishes adds a high shine to the mystical-world aesthetic. James' ring, also Fairtrade 9ct rose gold, continues the fantasy theme, with intricate skull and vine engravings. It is complete with a satin finish.
James And Debbie's Story
Debbie- I started out looking for a twisty nature inspired ring online and wanted to use Alexandrite as the centre stone for its colour changing properties and similarity to the portrayal of "the colour of magic" in a fantasy novel series which we both love. We are keen fantasy fans and wanted to ensure there were elements of this in the designs.
James- I was inspired by some pieces of Georgian and Victorian memento mori jewellery which combined skeletal and floral designs in a woodcut style, something I really enjoyed both symbolically and aesthetically. Though potentially a bit morbid on the face of it, I was also inspired by my fondness for the deeply humanistic character of DEATH from a particular fantasy novel series we love, and Alice was only too happy to make this rather unusual request a reality. The engraving inside my band is a quote from the novel about humans and love, which resonated with me. The start of the quote is engraved on our bamboo ring boxes, and my engagement ring completes it.
“We very much enjoyed the experience of meeting Alice and using her guidance and expertise in our design process, which resulted in our 2 uniquely meaningful rings.”

Alice Says
“I loved the fantasy inspiration for these rings. If the colour of magic could be represented in a stone, it would be alexandrite.”
