The more turquoise a tourmaline, the more expensive the stone will be. The stone can also incorporate more than one colour. For example watermelon tourmaline fades from green to pink!
Tourmaline is commonly heat treated to lighten the colour – it should be assumed that tourmaline we supply has been heat treated unless specified otherwise.
The stone measures 7-7.5 on the Mohs scale and is said to give the wearer success, confidence and good fortune.
