Andrew and Ailsa's oval Sapphire and diamond engagement ring
Andrew and Ailsa wanted a ring inspired by the waves and sand dunes of Formby beach and they asked us to source an unusual lilac sapphire as a modern take on Ailsa's grandmother's sapphire engagement ring. They visited myself and Sarah at our Hertfordshire studio with ideas of delicate asymmetric designs, and wanted sentimental aspects to be added to the design of her palladium engagement ring. The ring holds a lovely oval cut lilac sapphire 6.6 x 5.6mm, 1.44ct sapphire and a 2mm brilliant cut HSi diamond. The diamond is cupped by the tapering shoulder. The ring is finished to a very high polish and has a very gentle curved profile.
