Olivia wanted to reuse her own sapphire in her engagment ring
Richard and Olivia wanted their engagement ring to incorporate their own princess cut 0.18ct sapphire which would be taken from a ring that Olivia already had. Olivia wanted her engagement ring to be delicate so a 2mm wide tapered band was decided on, this would accentuate the lovely blue princess cut just over 2.5mm sapphire and give a very feminine look to the front of the ring. For practicality Richard and Olivia chose an all around rub over setting to hold their stone, which as well as giving a lot of protection creates a smooth boarder around the stone framing the sapphire and emphasising it's shape beautifully. Palladium was chosen for the metal as it's slightly steely blue tone worked really well with the blue of the sapphire.
