Sapphire and diamond platinum engagement ring
This 0.92cts pale blue sapphire has been unusually cut - the shape is like the cut known as 'emerald' but some extra diagonal facets have been included for a little extra sparkle - this is called a scissor cut. This has been set off to its best advantage next to 3 1.5mm H SI princess cut diamonds in each shoulder. These diamonds have been channel set so that the straight line of diamonds reflects the shape of the central precious stone. The setting shape from the side has been used to echo the scissor cut perfectly and the unusual orientation of the sapphire not only looks beautiful and just slightly unusual but also means that you can wear this ring next to an unshaped wedding band for a simple elegant look.
