Shereene's pear cut sapphire and diamond engagement ring
Alasdair wanted to commission a bespoke engagement ring for Shereene that reflected her Sri Lankan heritage whilst also drawing inspiration from the shaping of his mother’s engagement ring. A ring with strong ethical credentials was important to Alasdair so he chose Fairtrade 9 carat yellow gold which complements the rich blue of the 1.35ct pear cut Sri Lankan sapphire beautifully. Shereene inherited round brilliant cut diamonds from her grandmother and they have been set to one side of the sapphire whilst a pear cut diamond has been set to the other side to create a unique asymmetric formation that Alasdair so loved about his mother’s ring.
