Lou's surprise sapphire and diamond engagement ring.
Sarah emailed me with lots of photos of rings she had been researching so that we could use them as inspiration for an engagement ring to surprise her partner Lou with. The perfect ring needed to have flush set stones to suit Lou’s practical lifestyle and we also spoke about making a ring with slightly contrasting metals and finishes too. We chose to create a central strip in 9ct white gold for its warm slightly gold colour, which contrasts against the steely white colour of palladium on the outside edges of the ring. The middle is also very gently hammered whilst the outside is polished to a high shine. The gently curved profile of the ring softens the look of the design and the graduating sapphires and diamond are the perfect subtle finish for Lou’s ring.
