Ania's Blue mosque inspired engagement ring
Dan wanted to commission an engagement ring for Ania which incorporated her fascination with Islamic art. After studying in the Middle East, Ania discovered a love for the shapes and interior details of the Blue Mosque in Istanbul and Dan wanted this to be reflected in the design. Dan collated a range of images on a Pinterest board which he brought into the Cambridge studio to discuss with a designer. The final design draws inspiration from the Islamic plant motif which is used widely across Islamic art. At the centre of this handmade 9 carat white and yellow gold engagement ring is a 2mm 0.035ct brilliant cut HSI diamond. To create the petals, six brilliant cut blue sapphires, totaling 0.21ct, have been grain set around the central stone. Ania’s ring has been designed to perfectly sit next to a straight wedding ring in the future.
