Angela's Umbrella Figurine Tribute Incorporating Sentimental Gold and Precious Stones
Laura wanted to create an umbrella figurine in memory of her late grandmother June using a number of yellow gold pieces of jewellery set with precious and semi-precious stones that she had inherited. This sentimental figurine was hand-made by our senior goldsmith in our Hertfordshire studio using these pieces. Claw set into the piece are some of Laura's own gemstones including two oval cut smokey quartz, four oval cut sky blue topaz, two pear cut sky blue topaz, a brilliant cut red ruby and a synthetic blue sapphire. We also added intricate detailing around the stones alongside the spokes of the umbrella. The base of this incredible piece has Grandmother June's Id bracelet attached making it even more special. A mixture of pin mop and polished finishes were used for added contrast between the umbrella and the base.
