Karen's 9ct white gold and boulder opal pendant
Karen and Colin came in to our Hertfordshire studio to discuss their ideas for a new pendant. Karen wanted to use her own boulder opal and for this to be the focus of the whole design. The bail and wire work holding the stunning stone have been hand crafted from 9ct white gold which has not been rhodium plated so the creamier warmer colour of the natural white gold can be seen; this slightly warmer off-white metal works beautifully with the colours of Karen's boulder opal. The wire work wraps around the stone to hold it in place while the back stays relatively simple with a discreet bail to give the pendant a contemporary and simple look. It has been strung on to Karen's own silver chain. Karen's pendant is very wearable and has been finished off with a polished finish.
