A historic city with a modern feel

Our award-winning Green Street jewellers is a key location to admire the combination of history, beauty, and modern living. It’s enough to inspire any bespoke piece of jewellery! If you’re local or not, turn your visit into a day or two of fun. Here are some of our favourite places to help you plan.

Fitzwilliam Museum– This is the university of Cambridge’s principal museum housing a world-renowned collection of over a million works of art and artefacts. Plan in advance, and visit their unmissable galleries, exhibitions and displays and family friendly events.

Punting- If the weather is just right for you, we highly recommend taking a punt down the river. Choose from any of the companies as you walk down and enjoy a private or shared tour of the Cambridge views, from a different angle. Or, if you’re feeling brave, hire a boat and give it a go yourself!

Walking tours- Book a small group tour to make sure you see all the keys sights, and of course discover the facts and lesser-known details behind the remarkable City’s history.

Botanical Gardens- Take a stroll through the gardens and lake, admiring the views and flowers in bloom. Or you can coincide with one of their events, which can include a festival of plants and science programmes.

Fitzbillies– With over 100 years in Cambridge, this café and cake shop is infamous and well worth a visit. You’ll be spoilt for choice with their array of artisan breads, cakes, Chelsea buns and other sweet delights.

Aromi- This family-run Italian bakery and café is ideal for a dinner or lunch treat, which you can take away if you prefer. They bring a slice of Sicilian life to the city, with an assortment of family recipes- sourdough pizzas, filled focaccia, arancini, cakes, cannoli and gelato- all handmade by their chefs.

The Chop House- Spread over two floors with atmospheric cellars, you can’t go wrong with a visit to the Chop House. Sit in their large window section, watch the hustle and bustle of the city pass and enjoy their vast menu, real ale and extensive wine list.

The Ivy Brasserie- Located in Trinity Street, this offers relaxed but sophisticated dining. Choose something on their broad menu or maybe opt for an afternoon tea with a 3-tier stand of fresh scones, sandwiches and sweet treats.

Hotel Du Vin– This boutique hotel is nestled on Trumpington Street, with a picturesque backdrop of elegant and historic architecture. Each room is meticulously designed to provide comfort and style. Enjoy a moment of calm in their lounge, head to their Bistro for classic seasonal dishes, or experience their wine tasting experience with an expert sommelier.

The Varsity Hotel and Spa- Located right in the city centre close to St John’s and the colleges, this hotel means you’re a moment’s walk from punting, shopping, sight-seeing and enjoying the nightlife. Make the most of their spa- with a pool, sauna and treatments available- or head to their iconic roof terrace. Have some dinner and drinks whilst surrounded by the breathtaking, panoramic view of Cambridge.
