What Is Sustainable Packaging
Alice Rochester
Alice is a Senior Jewellery Designer in our North Herts Jewellery Centre. She is an ethical champion who adores including vibrant gemstones in unique designs.
Since joining us at Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery in 2004 Alice has worked on over 2,000 commissions and redesigns. However, she isn’t limited to designing as she’s our Ethics Ambassador too- our ethical voice in the industry and beyond.
She became one of the first ever Fairtrade Ambassadors after previously being part of the course’s Beta Testing. Consequently, she’s a valued member, and continues to hold regular discussions with them about their offerings and support for jewellers. Unsurprisingly, this advocacy for a better world doesn’t end there. As a member of Fair Luxury Alice partakes in important conversations about how to make positive ethical changes in business. Besides that, outside of an ethical jewellery stance, she’s also a trustee on the Kanyike Project.
Alice’s love of jewellery stemmed from childhood right to completing a Product and Furniture Design BA at DeMontfort University. Here, she studied the whole creative design process- from idea to production- particularly focusing on a human-centred aesthetic and result. Developing this mindset was undoubtedly well-suited for her future bespoke jewellery career path.
Once graduated, she exhibited a modular contract seating solution at the “New Designers’ Exhibition” and subsequently won the BCFA Award.
On a whole, Alice continually excels in drawing together a strong sense of education, ethical values and of course creativity. Along with a love of colour she enjoys combining a sense of fun with organic shapes. This results in marvellous jewellery designs that are both dramatic and elegant. Every unique piece she works on is filled with innovation and flair, and truly captures each individual and their story.

It’s such a joy to be part of a company that holds ethical values dearly, and to design jewellery that is not only beautiful but that also has a social conscience.
