Gothic inspired black diamond palladium engagement ring
Denis wanted to design a gothic inspired engagement ring. Denis chose this 3mm princess cut heat treated black diamond for a dark sparkle. These heat treated diamonds are heated at very high temperatures and pressures to achieve this permanent colour change. Natural occurring diamonds of this colour are very rare and costs many thousands of pounds and so this treatment process brings these coloured diamonds within reach. This also means that the ring must not be heated up to very high temperatures, for eg by a jeweller during a resize, so special care needs to be taken when resizing this ring in the future and the stones must be carefully removed and re-set during any future resizing work. The ring has then been given a highly polished finish. Two 1.5mm brilliant cut diamonds have been pave set into the 2.5mm palladium band, and has been highly polished. We have hand engraved this scrolling pattern around the side of the band for added interest.
