Giovana's diamond and birthstone eternity ring

Andy wanted to commission an eternity ring ready to surprise Giovana with when she gives birth to their little girl. The 4mm wide platinum band has a D-shaped profile and a polished finish. The ring holds ten 2mm brilliant cut diamonds; on one side of the ring are three H Si diamonds and two heat treated pink diamonds. These heat treated diamonds are heated at very high temperatures and pressures to achieve this permanent colour change. Natural occurring diamonds of this colour are very rare and costs many thousands of pounds and so this treatment process brings these coloured diamonds within reach. This also means that the ring must not be heated up to very high temperatures, for eg by a jeweller during a resize, so special care needs to be taken when resizing this ring in the future and the stones must be carefully removed and re-set during any future resizing work. On the other side are three sky blue topaz (their baby's birthstone), an amethyst (Gio's birthstone), and a plum tourmaline (Andy's birthstone) totalling 0.36cts. Andy chose to also add engraving that weaves between the stones for extra detail.
