Barry wanted to combine their love for pandas with his celtic roots

Barry and Xiao visit China every year so Barry wanted to commission a surprise engagement ring inspired by the couple's travels to East Asia. A shared love of pandas is the key inspiration behind the design with two 2mm brilliant cut black heat treated diamonds used to represent the iconic panda eyes. At the centre of the design is a 0.37ct GVS2 brilliant cut diamond set in an all around setting. The palladium surrounding the central stone has been formed into a leaf shape to mimic the bamboo leaves associated with the animal and also includes 3 green brilliant cut tourmalines. The colour is also a subtle reference to the Celtic influences Barry wanted to include in the design. The 9 carat rose gold band has a satinised finish and complements the colours used within the design.
