Catherine's bespoke anniversary ring

Phil and Catherine commissioned this bespoke ring to celebrate their anniversary. The main focal point of the design is this sparkly 5.2mm brilliant cut G/H Si 0.55ct diamond which has been set in an high carat yellow gold all around setting to contrast with the soft tones of the 9ct white gold twist style band. Three 1.5mm brilliant cut heat treated blue diamonds totalling 0.03cts have been invisibly set into the twist to add further subtle injections of colour. These heat treated diamonds are heated at very high temperatures and pressures to achieve this permanent colour change. Natural occurring diamonds of this colour are very rare and costs many thousands of pounds and so this treatment process brings these coloured diamonds within reach. This also means that the ring must not be heated up to very high temperatures, for eg by a jeweller during a resize, so special care needs to be taken when resizing this ring in the future and the stones must be carefully removed and re-set during any future resizing work. The ring has a D shaped profile and a polished finish.
