Denise's platinum and heat treated diamond fitted eternity ring.
John surprised Denise with a visit to our Hertfordshire studio to commission an eternity ring to compliment her engagement and wedding rings. Denise's ring holds nine 2mm brilliant cut diamonds in a channel setting (six H Si diamonds, two heat treated ice blue diamonds and one heat treated sky blue diamond). The band is 3mm wide and has a gentle sweeping shape. This stunning ring has a polished finish to set it off and add a little more sparkle. These heat treated diamonds are heated at very high temperatures and pressures to achieve this permanent colour change. Natural occurring diamonds of this colour are very rare and costs many thousands of pounds and so this treatment process brings these coloured diamonds within reach. This also means that the ring must not be heated up to very high temperatures, for eg by a jeweller during a resize, so special care needs to be taken when resizing this ring in the future and the stones must be carefully removed and re-set during any future resizing work. The ring has then been given a highly polished finish.
