Fay's 18ct yellow gold and diamond fitted wedding ring
Dan and Fay came in to our Hertfordshire studio to discuss their ideas for wedding rings. Fay wanted an 18ct yellow gold band which would fit snuggly next to her twist style previoously commissioned engagement ring. Fay's ring has been crafted into a beautiful wave shape which enhances the engagemnt ring and the diamonds in the wedding ring. The band is 3mm wide at the sides and back, and tapers in as it sweeps around the front. The D-shaped profile matches the engagement ring as does the depth at the sides and back. Fay's wedding ring deepens slightly towards the front, but not as much as the engagemnt ring to keep a little step up. There are eleven brilliant cut H Si1 diamonds set into Fay's wedding ring, totalling 0.19cts (three 2mm, two 1.75mm, two 1.5mm, two 1.2mm and two 1mm); six are set into a channel on one side, and five are invisibly set on the other - both sets of diamonds graduate in size to follow the tapering band. The two styles of setting create an unusual style, while keeping the design relatively simple and flush, giving an overall sleek and flowing feel to Fay's wedding ring. It has been finished off with a high polish.
