Katharina's bespoke wedding ring with engraved detail
This bespoke wedding ring has been made using the customer's own 18ct yellow gold and eight ~1.5mm brilliant cut diamonds (four white, two heat treated green and two heat treated yellow). These diamonds are heated at very high temperatures and pressures to achieve this permanent colour change. Natural occuring diamonds of this colour are very rare and cost many thousands of pounds and so this treatment process brings these coloured diamonds within reach. This also means that the ring must not be heated up to very high temperatures so special care needs to be taken when resizing this ring in the future - and the stones must be removed and reset. The diamonds have been carefully grain set onto the band in marquise shaped settings with the diamonds alternating between coloured and clear all the way around the ring.
