Chris wanted an engagement ring inspired by Sheffield

Chris and Ellie wanted to commission an engagement ring inspired by Sheffield as it holds special meaning to both of them. They met at university in Sheffield and both are hoping to move back one day. They requested Rebecca as the designer as she also studied there and was well placed to think how it could inspire the design of the ring. The ring incorporates many inspirations reflecting different elements of Sheffield. The seven stones spread over Ellie's engagement and wedding ring represents the seven hills of Sheffield and also the fact that they have known each other for seven years. There is a 'rod' representation next to the setting in between the split that represents the steel that Sheffield is well known for. The waved feel of the two rings together and the blue of the sapphire were inspired by the five rivers that flow around Sheffield and that the water and water sports are a big part of their life. The Sapphire is set in an all around rub over setting whilst the diamonds are invisibly set into the band for a practical design for a hands on person. Ellie's ring measures 2.5mm and tapers into the twist style at the setting.
