Bespoke volcano inspired heat-treated red diamond engagement and wedding ring set
This stunning pair of rings were designed for Mark and Rachael, and were inspired by their love for and interest in volcanoes. Apropriately, the proposal was in the volcanic island of Hawaii! The 9ct white gold engagement ring wraps around a pair of incredible 3.8mm brilliant cut heat treated red diamonds. These have been highlighted by 6 pave set brilliant cut diamonds to add extra white sparkle. The wishbone shaped wedding ring fits closely around the swirling design, with a slim stripe rich high carat yellow gold alongside the 9ct white gold, emphasising the sweeping shape. See Alice's blog article on this engagement ring. The treatment of this diamond is a special process using state of the art technology to produce this beautiful and permanent colour change. Natural pink or red diamonds like this would cost many thousands of pounds so this new technology makes this ring within reach! The treatment means that the ring must not be heated up to very high temperatures (eg by a jeweller during resizing of the ring) or cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner so special care needs to be taken when resizing this ring in the future and the stone must be carefully removed and re-set during any future resizing work.
