Delicate platinum ring with unusual princess cut blue heat-treated diamond

This simple, contemporary engagement ring hold this beautiful rare 0.41cts heat-treated blue diamond at an unusual angle in a clever way so as to reveal the tip of the stone from the side view whilst still holding it securely with a flush setting This diamond is heat treated to give it this beautiful intense aqua blue shade the design means that a flat unshaped wedding band will sit next to it by slipping underneath the stone setting for a clean look. Diamonds like this get their beautiful colours when they are heated at very high temperatures and pressures to achieve this permanent colour change. Natural occurring diamonds of this colour are very rare and cost many thousands of pounds and so this treatment process brings these coloured diamonds within reach. This also means that the ring must not be heated up to very high temperatures (eg by a jeweller during resizing of the ring) so special care needs to be taken when resizing this ring in the future and the stone must be carefully removed and re-set during any future resizing work.
