Ethical 18ct White Gold 0.21cts Recycled Diamond Engagement Ring

This pretty, simple engagement ring uses new gold mined using ecologically responsible, fair trade principles in small scale cooperatives mines in Argentina. The ring holds a recycled 3.8mm (0.21cts) brilliant cut H SI diamond for an even more ethical piece. The band is 3.5mm wide and tapers, drawing the eye in towards the centre. The white sparkle of the diamond contrasts beautifully with the warm colour of the natural 18ct white gold, whilst the millegrained delicately beaded edge of the all around setting visually extends the size of the stone. Note that although the gold within this 18ct alloy is 100% mined using the fair trade principles, the other metals within the alloy (which make up 25% of the metal) are not yet available fairly traded....but they are working on it for the future! We would very much like to offer more fairly traded gold alloyed rings in this way and into the future - in the case of this ring, the gold being mined using fair trade principles means that the metal part of the ring is slightly more costly than 'normal' - but the diamond being recycled is not only the 'greenest' diamond available to us (repolished and re-graded from a bracelet in a USA pawn shop!) but it also cost less then a newly mined diamond. So we feel that this combination should balance well and still keep the price competitive. Do please e-mail and let us know what you think as we plan to extend these green options as much as we can and would value your opinion.
