Bali inspired 18ct white gold and diamond twist style engagement ring
Kerry really liked twist style rings and square stones which was perfect - Ian had proposed in a pagoda in Bali so we used this theme to inspire her ring. The princess cut 4.3mm H SI diamond in the centre represents the pagoda, and the pave set heat-treated coloured diamonds echo the colours of the sea, sky and greenery there. The colours graduate from forest green, to apple green finishing with an H SI diamond one side; the other has sky blue, ice blue and then another H SI white diamond. Diamonds like this get their beautiful colours when they are heated at very high temperatures and pressures to achieve this permanent colour change. Natural occurring diamonds of this colour are very rare and cost many thousands of pounds and so this treatment process brings these coloured diamonds within reach. This also means that the ring must not be heated up to very high temperatures (eg by a jeweller during resizing of the ring) so special care needs to be taken when resizing this ring in the future and the stone must be carefully removed and re-set during any future resizing work.
