A Regal History for Mel's Engagement Ring
Cast and hand finished in Fairtrade 9ct white gold, Mel's engagement and wedding ring set carry history as well as beauty. The band has a delicate twist in the shoulders, leading towards a remarkable claw set Ascher cut, deep teal sapphire and two claw set, pear cut diamonds either side. A sentimental, oak detailing is incorporated on the side of the setting. Mel's Fairtrade 9ct white gold wedding ring is made to fit alongside, with a gentle wave.
Discover Geoff and Mel's Story
William Pendrill was a Roman Catholic and Royalist in the English Civil War. Pendrill and his five brothers were the occupants of Boscobel House in Shropshire where, in 1651, they secreted the defeated King Charles II in an oak tree after the Battle of Worcester. The tree became known as the 'Royal Oak'. The Pendrill brothers risked their lives to save the King, displaying characteristics of loyalty and trust through this selfless act. Ever since, oak trees remain a focal point for the Pendrill family.
With such a significant history laced with meaning, it was only fitting that the symbolic oak tree was incorporated into the ring. Alice was able to achieve this with the inclusion of an oak leaf in the side setting of the sapphire.
This detail is a symbol of the past joining the present and now the future, and the couple’s loyalty to each other.
