Sue's Striking Moon and Stars Inspired Diamond and Sapphire Dress Ring
Richard and Sue had inherited a large, 18ct yellow gold ring from Richard’s mother. Sue felt she wasn’t able to wear the ring, as not only did the style not suit, its size made it impractical and difficult to wear. Along with a combination of Sue’s mothers rings, a sapphire pendant and a diamond gifted for a special birthday, we began the re-design. Taking inspiration from the moon and stars, we designed several different options, with Sue most drawn to the flow and movement of this final design. We sketched the ring to have different levels from the side view, to encapsulate the ‘chunkier’ look of the original ring. Together with a polished and moondust finish, we carefully arranged where the diamonds and sapphires should sit to display the beauty of each stone, resulting in a truly celestial look.
