Laura's mixed metal opal and diamond engagement ring
Chris was busy running a coastal challenge around the UK raising money for charity and planned to propose to Laura when he found the perfect location on his journey. Chris wanted to incorporate an opal into the design as he liked the unusual colouring and iridescence the gemstone displays. The focal point of the design is a round cabochon cut opal which has been all around set in 9 carat yellow gold. To add a traditional element to the design, the plate of 9 carat white gold surrounding the central stone has been grain set with four round brilliant cut diamonds at each compass point with beaded detailing between each gemstone.
