Katherine's sapphire and oval diamond engagement ring
Matthew proposed to Katherine with our commission in a box alternative so that the couple could design Katherine’s engagement ring together. Katherine wanted a ring that was delicate with a simple and classic design. She chose a beautiful 0.70ct oval cut diamond as the central stone and loved the idea of incorporating blue stones for the shoulders. Having initially considered blue diamonds, Katherine decided upon round blue sapphires as the rich ‘Royal’ colouring worked perfectly next to the sparkly diamond and gave the design the classic look she had in mind. To achieve an overall delicate style, we designed the ring with a 2mm band width with a taper towards the shoulder stones allowing the full focus to be on the stunning oval cut central diamond.
