Catherine's yellow and white gold dress ring with her own pink sapphire
Charles bought this pretty sapphire whilst he was abroad and decided that he wanted to surprise Catherine with the opportunity to commission something really special using the stone. They came in together and decided that it needed to be in a ring because of the unusual colours and striations within the stone - best appreciated in different lights by the wearer rather than everyone else! Catherine wanted it to go with her other jewellery so chose a mixed metal design, with a yellow gold band and the stone set in white gold claws with white gold horseshoe shapes each side to add detail rather than sparkle.
