Lizzy's Antique and Elephant inspired Engagement ring

Kilian wanted to surprise Lizzy with the perfect ring, that would combine his love of the modern with her love of antique jewellery. Kilian decided to use the idea of elephant trunks as the design inspiration behind the splitting shoulders, nodding to the antique by adding intricate detail. He chose a six claw setting hinting to a rex-style setting commonly seen in antique jewellery but modernising it by asking for talon like claws, giving the impression of elephants tusks holding the stone. The beautiful H colour diamond he chose was a slightly warmer colour than the diamonds we normally work with, adding to the antique look of the ring. The engraved detail is a modern twist on graining, a technique really common in decorating antique rings. The overall effect is this stunning ring, perfectly marries the inspiration for the ring and balances two very different styles.
