Monika's modern platinum and diamond engagement ring with octagonal plate
Monika wanted an engagement ring with a really modern, industrial look, and this striking ring was the result. The central diamond is claw set into a deep octagonal plate which she compared to a nut as she wanted all the edges to be really crisp and sharp. The double apex band deepens to become almost knife-like where it meets the setting, and softens slightly as it goes between the fingers so it's a bit more comfortable! She had thought about having the main stone as a ruby as she loves the deep red colour of passion and fire, but chose this striking 0.60ct diamond instead. A small ruby has been set into the side of the band so she retains this reference but keeps the colour more discrete. A contemporary yet timeless design.
