Lydia's Medieval Zoomorpic duck Inspired Trilogy Engagement Ring
Ian wanted to design the perfect ring to surprise Lydia, they both had a deep interest in Medieval history and had both chosen to study areas of history at university. Ian wanted the ring to illustrate a Medieval design and so chose a 3.5mm green tsavorite as the central stone with two 2mm purple sapphires either side. This colour combination is considered to be commonplace in Medieval ages, especially when set amongst 9 carat yellow gold. Ian really wanted the ring to feature some engraving that would be personal to Lydia, as she studies Anglo-Saxon History, he chose some relevant scripture and illustrations as inspirations for the engraving. After exploring different aspects of the scripture he decided a Zoomorpic duck would be the perfect illustration. This was engraved on both shoulders and include an incredible amount of detailing.
