Viktorija's northern lights inspired black star sapphire engagement ring
David and Viktorija spent a beautiful holiday under the aurora borealis and David thought it was the perfect opportunity to propose but had no ring. After returning from holiday David wanted to create a ring that captured the night sky and was inspired by their trip. David knew that Viktorija wanted something a little different and decided on a lovely oval black star sapphire in a rub over setting. The diamonds in the shoulders are slightly asymmetric with four on one shoulder and two on the other. The engraved line ties the design together and draws the eye around the whole ring rather than just focusing on the central stone. The 9 carat white gold complements the central stone beautifully bringing out the warm tones in the sapphire. David then got to recreate their holiday and proposed on a frozen lake under the northern lights in north Finland.
