Platinum ring with heat-treated blue diamonds and and white diamonds totalling 0.77cts
This ring would be perfect either as an engagement ring or as an eternity ring. It holds a central H SI white diamond weighing 0.24cts and this is flanked by a pair of heat-treated blue diamonds totalling 0.32cts and then a pair of H SI white diamonds totalling 0.21cts. The blue diamonds are heat-treated at high temperatures and pressures to achieve this permanent colour treatment to this beautiful strong aquamarine colour similar to the shade of natural (very rare and costly) blue diamonds. The ring is made from platinum and these diamonds are all around set for a smooth and practical ring with a little detail in the stone settings from the side. The diamonds get their blue colour when they are heated at very high temperatures and pressures to achieve this permanent colour change. Natural occurring diamonds of this colour are very rare and cost many thousands of pounds and so this treatment process brings these coloured diamonds within reach. This also means that the ring must not be heated up to very high temperatures (eg by a jeweller during resizing of the ring) so special care needs to be taken when resizing this ring in the future and the stone must be carefully removed and re-set during any future resizing work
