Gemma's platinum diamond and sapphire engagement ring
Mark and Gemma visited the studio wanting to design Gemma’s engagement ring, they had looks of ideas, but it was really important to Gemma to be able to incorporate the 2.40ct oval cut deep blue sapphire that came for a family heirloom and two old cut diamonds totalling 0.40cts, that were within her grandmother's ring. Gemma has long elegant fingers, so she decided on the large oval sapphire to be set perpendicular within an open ended setting, allowing light in the deep blue stone. On either side there is an old cut diamond set in an open claw setting, combining a traditional style of setting with a new feel. The ring is made for platinum, lovely bright and white, really showing off the colours of the stones, complimented by its high polish finish.
