Harriet's citrine and cognac diamond wedding ring
David and Harriet came into the studio to design Harriet's wedding ring. Harriet wasn't going to have an engagement ring, so she wanted a dramatic and asymmetric, yellow gold wedding ring with a striking central stone. Together we designed this stunning 9ct yellow gold twist style ring with a central 5.5mm brilliant cut citrine, which has been all around set. To add some sparkle we have invisibly set two 1.8mm brilliant cut heat treated cognac diamonds into the 4mm wide tapering band. To finish the design off we have given it a highly polished shine. The treatment of this diamond is a special process using state-of-the-art technology to produce this beautiful and permanent colour change. The treatment means that the ring must not be heated up to very high temperatures (e.g. by a jeweller during resizing of the ring) or cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner so special care needs to be taken when resizing this ring in the future and the stone must be carefully removed and re-set during any future resizing work.
