Pair of commissioned beetle cufflinks
These extremely unusual cufflinks were commissioned by Alexander, who felt that the tie pin and three dress studs that had been left to him should be put to more useful effect. The shimmering green beetles are real and are set in yellow gold claws, but we didn't want to work too much on these as we were worried what might happen to the beetles if we heated the metal! Instead, we cemented silver chain and bar fittings to the backs to create two pairs of cufflinks for him and his brother. They will be very delicate, so are for ocassional use only.
