Katie's 18 carat white gold amethyst and diamond earrings
Katie had a beautiful bespoke amethyst engagement ring commissioned and wanted some amethyst earrings that she could wear with the ring. Katie did not want them to match exactly so opted for a claw setting for the central amethyst, rather than the end only setting her engagement ring has. Katie also wanted to incorporate diamonds and loved the idea of a halo around the central stone. Each 18 carat white gold plate holds fourteen G-H VS1-2 round brilliant cut diamonds in a pave setting to enhance the sparkle of the diamonds in the metal. For security Katie went for some threaded posts and screw butterfly backs.
