Deborah Baugh
Deborah is a Junior Designer in our Primrose Hill Studio and Shop. A degree taught her fashion design, but family visits to museums and galleries is what awakened her sense of creativity,
Since joining Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery in 2022, Deborah’s assisted on many commissions, filling her design repertoire with innovation. During which, her expertise flourished therefore leading to a role progression in 2024.
She studied Fashion Design at Birmingham City University, where she learnt pattern making, CAD rendering, CLO3D animation and corsetry. In the final year. she completed an internship for a bespoke plus-sized bridal company. This consisted of supporting the lead designer, for example with pattern making, applique, and veil making. Thus paving the way for her early career at another bridal dressmaker, which refined her design style.
Deborah’s love of design tracks back to her childhood. Frequently, she was inspired by family daytrips which also included fashion and bridal trunk shows. As a result, this influenced any extracurricular commitments too. In her spare time, she designed and handmade at Saturday School for Bedford River Festival, carnivals and musical productions. Combining childhood ambitions with a degree and early career is ultimately what captivated her to pursue a jewellery design career. Above all, leading to us!
Since joining the team, she’s certainly further developed her design skills and flair. Whilst succinctly combining ideas from someone’s personal inspirations, Deborah’s especially drawn to contemporary styles with a vintage twist. In particular, floral and natural elements blended with intricate, traditional detailing. Ultimately, no matter the style, she values representing each person’s unique style to become an exceptional piece to treasure forever.
