What Gemstone Is Pink
Bethany Moffatt
Bethany is a Junior Designer in our St Albans Studio and Shop. She has a degree in Fine Art and a flair for elaborate and intricate bespoke designs.
Since joining the Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery St Albans team in 2023, Bethany (known as Betty in the studio) has progressed in both role and skills. She embraced the high street energy, being an assistant on so many fabulous commissions, preparing her for this next step.
She graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with a degree in Fine Art. During this time, she exhibited at Truman Brewery, Nude Tin Can Gallery, St Albans Museum and Gallery and had a pop up in Mason’s Yard.
Betty has always loved the beauty and expertise that comes with art. In particular, she admires the masters that came before us such as John Singer Sargent and J.M.W Turner. To soak in inspiration, she spent weekends at galleries and museums especially the V&A and Tate Britain. From a young age she channelled this passion, exploring her skills and creativity, including preparing for a jewellery career. In short, jewellery has always played a large part in her life! Finding and creating beautiful pieces that loved ones can cherish became a hobby. She made her first piece of jewellery at 10 years old, a pearl necklace that she wore on her wedding day!
Since joining our team, her exceptional design skills have flourished. Above all, she enjoys including intricate engraving and detailing, like millegrain, to demonstrate the skill of our workmanship. She’s also captivated by pairing different metals and gemstones together in order to enhance their unique hues.
