Themed Engagement Rings
Uncover the magic of themed engagement rings and design a one-of-a-kind symbol that reflects your love story
Today themes have become a popular staple when deciding upon wedding jewellery. We at Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery are no strangers to what we call ‘Inspired By’ projects. But the big question is, if you do want to have a themed wedding ring, engagement ring or eternity ring… which should you go for?
Setting The Scene
What about places you love? Somewhere you have been that is really special or reminds you of something sentimental? Using a place as inspiration for your wedding rings can be a fantastic way to create something unique. You could maybe choose somewhere you have holidayed together… or even where you plan to propose! Consider a country, city… or if you want to be really specific you could even choose a building you love!
Au Naturale
Nature is another popular option for the inspiration behind your engagement and wedding rings. The sea, sky and land can be a great place to start with popular themes such as; mountains, meadows, the sky at night and in the day and, waves can work really well. Night sky rings for example might incorporate less traditional gemstones such as moonstone or blue goldstone. On the other hand if you are a fan of unusual fitted wedding rings, sea inspired designs can be a great option with distinctive wave and bubble formations.
Or maybe the seasons themselves might be a good option? This is another great choice if you would like a selection of colourful gemstones. For example an autumn inspired ring might include amber, citrine and, cognac diamonds, whereas a summer inspired wedding ring could have stones such as yellow sapphires and aquamarines. Or if you have the weather on your mind you could have a design inspired by rainbows, or snow!
Animal, Vegetable or Mineral?
Of course if you or your partner loves animals it can be a lovely and unique way to really show some personality in your jewellery. Here at Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery, we have had unusual ideas based on a range of creatures e.g. dolphins, peacocks, birds, butterflies… and even an octopus!
If your partner has ‘green fingers’ maybe you could have a flower, plant or even a tree design! Don’t worry though you don’t have to be traditional, there is a whole array of flora to choose from, from roses and daisies to ivy and grape vines! Maybe you could choose your partner’s favourite flower?
Style It Up
If you love patterns, there are a whole bunch of motifs you could pick and choose from and, this is a great option if you love engraved detailing! There are so many different styles to choose from e.g. geometric, gothic or even cultural styled designs such as Aboriginal, Aztec or Indian themes. Or you could incorporate something a bit historical e.g. with Victorian or Georgian features.
There are so many fantastic options, as long as you don’t worry about being adventurous. Don’t forget, most ideas can be adapted to a design… so don’t be afraid to let you imagination run free!
