Aquamarine is known as a dichroic gem, which means that it will appear different colours when viewed at different angles, so for instance you might look at the stone from one angle and it could appear blue in colour, whereas it might appear clear from another direction. It really is a fascinating gemstone!
This lovely stone would be a stunning dress ring, pendant or even a brooch! It has an unusual oval shape which makes it stand out in the crowd, measuring at around 16.7×6.1mm in size. This stone has been cut en cabochon, which means that it has a lovely high domed shape unlike the more traditional facetted cuts that you might have seen elsewhere. The stone catches the light really nicely to show off its beautiful pale misty blue colour.
