Sarah's mixed metal dress ring using an inherited family sapphire

Sarah came in with an antique style sapphire and diamond ring which had been passed from her great grandmother, to her grandmother, then to Sarah, undergoing various redesigns along the way. The original stones had been set into an earring that was not worn until it was remade into a ring by Sarah's grandmother. Sarah wanted to start wearing the ring and came in looking to incorporate the beautiful stones into a dress ring. She loved the idea of keeping the three stones side by side but as she wanted to wear it every day she chose to celebrate the green-blue sapphire on its own and make he diamonds into earrings at a later date. She wanted an all around setting to bring the design up to date with a geometric, modern feel. She hoped the stone would really stand out so square windows have been added to the side of the settings to allow light to show off the dark green-blue sapphire. Sarah loved the satinised finish and the idea of mixing the different colours of gold to produce this stunning mixed metal design.
