Jamie wanted a ring inspired by Simmone's nationality
Jamie wanted to surprise Simmone with an engagement ring inspired by her home in Trinidad and Tobago, he wanted the inspiration to be a subtle reference but distinct. We came up with a couple of ideas which mainly took inspiration from the Trinidad and Tobago flag, I drew out some presentation sketches which Jamie proposed with. They came back together to confirm the design. The design Simmone chose focuses on using colours and engraving that is inspired by the banding of colours present in the flag. To keep with tradition Jamie wanted to have a diamond in the centre. Simmone's engagement ring holds a 2.5mm princess cut H Si diamond of which the square shape works well the with geometric and linear look of the ring. We have handmade the ring in palladium, the shank measures around 3mm wide all around and has an open twist style shaping. On each shoulder of the ring there is an invisibly set 1.5mm brilliant cut black and red spinel separated by engraved lines, which represents the coloured banding in the Trinidad and Tobago flag. The ring has then been given a highly polished finish.
