Katie's Platinum Art Deco inspired engagement ring
Katie was inspired by the Art Deco style and wanted to incorporate a solid colour framed by a clear colour. This was perfectly achieved with a central princess cut 4mm 0.46ct green sapphire and two princess cut 2.5mm 0.20ct H SI diamonds. The green sapphire is set in a secure all around rub-over setting with a square shape cut out of the side to enhance the light passing through the stone, highlighting the colour and sparkle. Katie chose a flat profile with softened edges. The choice of platinum also beautifully high-lighted the stones. The mill graining around the stones also sets off the sparkle of the stones, catching the light in all directions. Katie wanted a 1.5mm brilliant cut green sapphire pair grain set on shoulders for added delicacy and detail.
